About the Undergraduate Workers Union

UWU is about organizing students as workers

The Undergraduate Workers Union is a growing coalition of undergraduate workers and their allies working to train each other on labor organizing and expand the student worker movement. Our mission is to organize and educate students as workers to dismantle systems of oppression on their campuses and beyond. To do this, we aim to:

• Organize students as workers and build student worker power in the workplace

• Educate and train student workers to organize their own unions

• Build a broad recognition of student work as true labour, both inside and outside of the classroom

• Link student movements into the mainstream labour movement
